I own a BD DT-990 Pro in its 250 ohms version and my fairly-old M-Audio MobilePre MKII interface can correctly "drive" it but I have to crank the headphone volume up to 100% every time. I'm looking for an audio interface that could give me some more power for these headphones.
You don't need a pricey AMP. If the DAC on your MB is fine (no static noise etc), you can spend 20-30USD and get a decent amp from Fosi or Aiyima. I wouldn't suggest cutting from Headphone budget. Yeah, you could also get something like the ibasso dc05 or shanling ua1 pro for the dt 770 80 ohm. get the 80 ohm one.
Because of my usecase I am leaning towards the DT 990 PRO's. Amazon currently sells a 'limited-edition' (highly doubt it's actually limited edition but I prefer the look of the black ones and they're both 139euros), a black edition of the DT 990 PRO's in 250ohm, thinking of getting those in combination with the Sound BlasterX G6.
